Boo Hoo Hoo. Sob sob. Mighty Thor. Where art thou? Can’t your Mjolnir save you?
Remember I bought some comics for hubby? Well, it has not arrived yet. I have been in touch with the ebay seller who is trying to help me trace the package or claim insurance. Its been more than 2 months and tracing will take a further 60 days. KNN!
I was kedekut and used economy mail because I didn’t want to be too frivolouse with my hard earned PPP money. I knew the timing would be late missing hubby’s birthday and Valentine’s Day but not this late! Now maybe he’ll get it for his next birthday. Chey!
So yes its true. Thor is officially lost at sea. Either that or……. The Ebay seller and I have come to conclude that the customs here haven’t done with reading them yet. Hmmm…….
I really hope they turn up soon. Sob. sob.
Perhaps I should have called this post “He wants to tapau all the time!” Lol! Because thats what he prefers to do, that man of mine. I have mentioned before that food wars is one of the top ten couple wars ie one of the top ten things couples fight about.
We’re no exception. My sis and her hubby quibbles constantly about what size to chop up the chicken. Me and hubby like to argue about trying new stuff or eating the same old food. Another thing which we can’t seem to agree on is whether to eat in or eat out?
Hubby prefers to tapau (takeaway) most of the time because he likes to eat in the comfort of his own home, on the floor, in front of the tv (bad example for the kids, dear) plus its expensive to eat out (which I totally agree with) whereas I like to eat out for the obvious reasons (can dress up, no need to cook, clean and wash the dishes).
I wonder what other couples fight about? Do you fight about food too? What do you fight about?
Time to do some tag homework. Theres so many tags running around these days, I’m glad I’m not the only one running behind in tags. Lol!
PabloPabla tagged me for this one. This is not easy to do because I like to blog annonymously. Why? It just freaks me out to know that I could be walking around in the malls or whatever and some stranger I don’t know could be pointing and asking “Is that MG of Mumsgather blog?”. Yes, its scary to know that some stranger would know so much about my personal thoughts and life. So nosiree, I’m going to stick to no photos on my blog.
As some of you know, I really got even more freaked out when someone stole many of my very personal blog posts about conversations with my kids and wedding anniversary dedication to my hubby and pretended they were her conversation with her kids and her wedding day memories. Aiyooo! Really scary! But I really don’t mind meeting some of the bloggers I know if I got a chance.
1) Who is the first blogger you met?
Its got to be twinsmom who used to write on her Double Happiness blog but now concentrates on posting on her chinese blog. Met her during a volunteer session to man the MMB booth to promote breastfeeding to mothers. Err…. I think she’s not only the first, she’s the only blogger I’ve met. Hahaha.
2) Who is the ‘Most wanted to meet blogger?’ for you?
5xmom of course. She has helped me a lot in my blogging and continues to inspire me. I just love her personal blog as well as her Make$ Money$ blog. See all the $$ signs on her blog header. That explains why I read it. Lol!
3) Who is the ‘I can meet, want to meet but somehow never got to meet’ blogger?
Many but since I like to keep a low profile……..
4) Who are the group of bloggers you most wanted to meet?
All the parent bloggers of course.
5) Do you have any bloggers/blog readers that you wish to meet right now?
Firehorse naturally. Firehorse or Fatty Poh is my long lost friend and if I could meet her right now, it’ll be great but she’s so far away…..
Who do I tag next?
I think semua orang sudah completed this tag so no one lah.
A banana (thats me!) wants to learn Chinese Mandarin. In case you don’t know, a banana refers to a Chinese native who doesn’t speak or write Chinese. (ie one that behaves like a white but has yellow skin.)
After some ding dong and lots of thoughts and anxious dreams the night before, after contemplating for days and nights (in my dreams during sleep too) I finally registered my kid for Chinese school. Still being undecided I put two chinese schools as my first and second choice and a kebangsaan school as my third choice. (Like dat oso got). With all the soul searching and deep thought processes we have to go through to make this difficult decision, I’m told we may not even get the school of our choice and we will only find out which school our daughter will be sent to sometime in August next year! Sigh. I guess we will be back to this ding dong session again next year then.
So now, I’ve got a big task. ie to give my kid a little bit of background in Mandarin so she won’t be lost in school and to learn Mandarin myself so that I can guide her a little bit. However I’m told that most banana mothers who choose to do this can only guide for the first two years ie Std One and Two. After that the Mandarin is too deep and they can no longer follow the lessons and have to ask the child to check with their tuition teachers instead.
Hmmm…. so how do I start to learn Mandarin? By being a kid again and going back to the basic strokes. Here are some useful sites and links which I found to start me off. Any other bananas feel free to check them out too.
- Chinese Learner - This one’s good for learning basic chinese writing
- Kids Fun Chinese - This one has everyday terms. Its meant for preschoolers to have some fun while learning. I’ll probably be playing these games with my girl so we can both learn.
Hope others can share some sites with me too.
Hubby and I were just discussing about how our weekends are being taken over by errands. We never seem to be able to have a lazy relaxing weekends doing nothing accept eat, sleep, laze around and perhaps browse throught the newspapers.
We’re constantly rushing around doing this or that. There is always some tasks that needs to be accomplished and weekends are the only times we have left to do those since by the time he gets home during weekdays its almost impossible to get anything done especially if it involves visit to government offices or other places offering service.
Sometimes this gets soooooo tiring. How we wish we could just sit home and laze about but hubby says to look at the bright side. He says that means we are getting more and more things done as we move along. Anyway like I’ve said before, he is Mr Positive and always looks at the bright side of things and seldom complain.
I wonder how everyone else spends their weekends? If you laze around, don’t bother to comment and make me envious. Lol!
Siwwy Pig wanted to peek in my handbag. Ok. You can have a look here. (No pictures so anticlimax eh?) and both Siwwy Pig and Angel Eyes wants to know 6 weird things about me. Hmm….. okie, lets see….
- I can’t think of anything weird…….. Hey! Thats weird!
- I can’t sleep anywhere else accept on my bed. Not on the sofa or anywhere else and I must have my bolster!
- I like to eat my meals while I’m preparing food for the family to save time. By the time I finish cooking, I’ve finished my lunch/dinner and can move on to or concentrate on other things.
- I like to sleep when other people are awake and I’m awake when others are sleepy. I’m a nightbird.
- I’m soft spoken but with my kids I can get really LOUD!!!
- I can’t think of anything else. Isn’t that weird?
Ok. Not tagging anyone since I’ve just been called the tagging monster *pouts* by someone.
A bridal shower is a gift giving party for a bride a few weeks before her wedding usually organised by the bridesmaid or maid of honour. It is a time to pamper the bride and make her feel special. It is also a good opportunity for the bride to catch up with her girl friends and relatives just before her wedding.
Some bridal showers are pretty elaborate with complex themes and games and pretty bridal shower invitations being sent out to the invitees. Guests are usually women but nowadays men are included too.
I didn’t have a bridal shower because I eloped! Just kidding. Actually I think it would have been nice to have one but no one planned one for me and I couldn’t plan one myself because its considered rude for the bride’s family to plan or host one since it involves gift giving to the bride by the guests! Lol!
My good friend Fatty Poh wanted to know why I married a guy from KL wor.
- I small town girl mah. Small town girl easily impressed by hot shot big city KL boy loh that is why.
- KL Guys knows how to take short cuts one and get you through traffic jams or flooded roads in 5 minutes flat to reach your destination.
- If you like shopping you sure love KL guys. Lepak at the shopping complex is what we do the best.
- What do you do on a date with a KL guy? Shop and Eat loh. Both oso my favourites.
- When I say want to go back to my hometown during Chinese New Year he say ok because going to Penang is a holiday or vacation to him mah.
- KL guys makes you feel on top of the world…… when you watch the panaromic city view together from KL Tower that is.
- When I feel like partying till I drop, my KL guy can take me clubbing and pub hopping non-stop. There’s no shortage of watering holes in KL.
- After partying non-stop, we still can lepak at the Mamak shops until the wee hours of the morning if I still donch feel sleepy.
- Then when we feel guilty for having had too much food, drink and partying, we go to Lake Gardens to exercise and sweat it out.
- But most of all, I love my KL guy because he is my hubby, my confidante and my best friend. Muaks to you Mr MG.

I am worried of being bored on the island so I will pull along Sesame whom I have a lot in common with and we can chat from dawn to dusk.
Everyone on my island, you’ve just been tagged.
Pssst I’ve got tons of tag homework but I thought I should do this one first before I run out of people to invite to be on my island. Hehe.
We are busy busy busy. There’s never any free time. We always tell ourselves, “Ok, when we get this done then we’ll have more time” but something else always comes along. I guess thats life.
First we were busy renovating, moving house and settling in. Now we are busy shopping for schools and kindergardens for my girl. I’ve also just finished the intensive toilet training for my boy.
We also haven’t fully settled into the house yet. There are odds and ends to be done, utilities accounts to be closed for the old house, one of two more things to get for the new house things like that. Lots of errands and running around required. Pity I don’t have a car and have to drag the two kids along so we always have to wait for weekends or for when hubby is free so that makes our weekends rather packed with errands since there aren’t that many weekends around. Also its difficult for hubby to get leave all the time or his boss will think he is very lepak. (lazy attitude) We’re relying on his one income so he can’t mess up at work. Its very stressful for him, this burden. (which is why I write paid posts). I just had feedback from one of my readers that the quality of my blogs has dropped from too many paid posts. Sob sob.
Talking about blogs, I just finished doing up the categories for all my old posts, all 561 of them on my Parenting Times blog and 183 of them on my Mothering Times blog. Phew! Thats hard work! But it was quite fun too to look back at what I wrote. I’m still using my old blogger template as I’m stubborn and refuse to change to the new blogger customised ones since I’m so used to the old template. So I had to manually include the categories into my sidebar. I did it following this article for anyone who is interested: Blogger Hack: Adding Categories to Your Sidebar Without Losing Your Old Template
Ok, got to go now and work on some of those long To Do Lists…………. (pssst.. I’ll work on some of those tags soon okie? patience.. patience…. hahaha *runs away*)
