About Me

Tuesday 20 March 2007 @ 10:18 am

Ever since I submitted my blog urls to get constructive feedback on my blogs, I have been following the PPP blog with sweaty palms and great anticipation and nervousness. They have started reviewing some of the blogs from an advertiser’s point of view and I’m following some of the reviews to find out how to improve my blogs.

I noticed that one of the parts which they have frequently pointed out is the “About Me” section. I was embarrased when I checked mine and saw that it still contained the original wordpress info instead of info about me. (because I didn’t have time and I was too lazy to write!) So I have quickly rectified that and posted in my “About Me” page.

Here’s an excerpt for those of you too lazy to read. Hehe.

I believe that a blog is like your cyber real estate or home. Blogging is not only about writing. When you have a blog you must take care of it. You must tend it with care and love and nurture it so that it grows and appreciates in value. You must take care of it too ie prune the hedges, pull out the weeds (or do your necessary administrative work to improve ie what I call your blog housekeeping, this part I dislike) or change its clothes every now and then (your blog template or look, I am woman and I am vain!), then you must water it so that it will flower (update your blog regularly) and fill it with juice or good content so that the search engines will find you.

I have several blogs to satisfy my different split personalities. Lol! Visit my “Blogs I Write” page to find out about the blogs that I write and maintain on a regular basis (I do nurture, tender to, prune, and water these blogs frequently). Thank you so much for visiting.

Read more here.

Errrmm so what do you think? *more sweaty palms and cold sweat* Is there anything else you would like to know about me that I can add on here? (Why do I feel like I’m asking for trouble with this statement?)

Tag Trouble

Monday 19 March 2007 @ 5:45 pm

I’m in tag trouble and I asked for it! You see, I cleverly asked everyone to tag me and sporting blogging buddies like PabloPabla, Sesame, Siwwy Pig, Firehorse, KittyCat responded.

However, currently I am sooooo busy I don’t have time to blog let alone do those tags. The only time I have is to delete those *&%^$$#(!@ spam. Grrrr.. No time to read blogs, publish blogs, write paid posts or tender to or nurture my blogs. Sob. Sob. Blogs must be taken good care of you know or they will wilt and die.

Thanks for the tag guys. Give me a little bit of time and I will surely get to them. :) *runs away before those who tagged me hits me with rotten eggs*

Get Constructive Feedback and Improve the Quality of your Blog

Friday 16 March 2007 @ 12:09 pm

I read on the PPP blog this morning this blog post: Increase the Quality of your Bog. Here’s an exerpt from that post:

My first thought was to pick a few blogs at random but given the previous post it appears people are too sensitive for that. Instead I will open it up to all of you. Who wants to step up and get some constructive feedback?

Post your blog address in the comments and I will take a look at it from an advertisers point of view. I will review it, give my honest feedback (no holds barred) and post it to this blog for all to learn from. You can take my advice or leave it. I have certainly gained a lot from all of your feedback, this is how we get better together.

I’m game. I immediately posted my blog url to get some feedback. I’m shaking in my knees in fear but I’m ready for some feedback. I think feedback is good. Feedback will help you improve. I’m nervous but this is a good chance to receive some feedback.

PPP posties, if you wish to receive feedback too, go and post your blog url in the comment section of that blog post.

I’m only worried the response will be so overwhelming that they won’t have enough time to give feedback on all. Lol!

My experience so far at Sponsored Reviews

Wednesday 14 March 2007 @ 3:49 pm

I first heard of Sponsored Reviews from Lilian’s Make$ Money$ blog. Naturally I went to sign up as a blogger because to me, that gives me a wider choice of reviews to write about so that I will be better able to pick those that are relevant to my blogs and topics that are closer to my heart. Oh, I can write on just about anything that is general under the sun (unless its something technical that I don’t have any knowledge about) because I just love to write but if its something close to my heart then I can let my words fly off from my head onto the page with passion and almost effortlessly.

Ok, I’m digressing. This is not a post about why I love to write. Lol! So far, I like Sponsored Reviews. I like the interface and I like it that I have the freedom to price my blogs within a certain given range. I have priced it at the highest within the range because I believe in the quality of my work. I don’t do copy and paste and always make sure I write original content by visiting and understanding the site I am reviewing. My blogs are currently priced at USD40 and I receive 65% for each assignment.

I like the fact that advertisers have the choice to select my blog from a list plus my freedom to bid and negotiate to certain advertisers of my choice. I submitted my blog to Sponsored Review for approval, and received my first assignment plus an approval within 24 hours. Now, I’ll sit back and see if I get paid for my first review in the next 2 weeks. Payment is made 2 weeks after a completed review.

Have you signed up yet? Care to trade stories with me on how you’re doing so far?

Tag me please!

Wednesday 14 March 2007 @ 3:09 pm

I have evolved and become a different blogging animal now. Hahaha. I read this old post of mine called Tags, tags and more tags…. written waaaaay back in Sept 19, 2005 and in case anyone still remembers that post (as if they would since even I have forgotten it) I want you all to know that I now love tags!

Why? Apart from the all too obvious $$$ reasons, tags give me something to write about and lots of link love that is why. It is also a quick and easy way to network with other bloggers and get to know them too.

So tag me please! (This is an unabashed call for tags. Hehe.) You can be 80% assured that your tag will get done and passed on. And if you feel the same was as I do, drop your comment here and I’ll tag you for sure. Lol!

I hate Spam! I hate Spam!

Wednesday 14 March 2007 @ 8:19 am

I hate Spam! Part of my day is wasted deleting spam. Its everywhere. In my emails, on my blog comments. The worse is probably on this blog. I have to sieve through and delete hundreds of spam daily! Its terribly annoying.

Worse of all, there is this site that sometimes picks up my blog posts as soon as I click publish. I think its automated or something. As soon as I hit publish, I receive a trackback ping and when I check out, I find this site with my article in it word for word. Has anyone ever encountered this? It doesn’t happen for every post, just some.

Can anyone share with me how they handle spam please? Thank you.

The heart of the home

Tuesday 13 March 2007 @ 3:40 pm

Where is the heart of your home? For me, its got to be the kitchen and the study room. Thats where I spend most of my time. I’m hardly ever in the living room. I don’t have time to watch tv. I don’t have Astro and I don’t watch tv. The dining room is for eating and the bedroom is for sleeping and ahem! other activities.

I can be found in the study room most of the time and the kitchen the rest of the time. So those two rooms are the heart of my home and must be comfortable and practical.

My kitchen is a practical one. Its small and cramp but I like it because its practical. I placed a round table right in the center of the kitchen which makes it even more cramp but thats fine by me because its practical. It gives me more work space and the kids can sit there and have their meal while I work or they can sit and chat with me or help out or both. Its perfect.

To anyone else, reading this, I’m curious. Where is the heart of your home?

BTW, parents with school going kids, can you head on over to my Parenting Times blog and give me some help and your views on my dilemma?

More update about dad

Friday 9 March 2007 @ 9:17 am

Dad had his MRI results interpreted by his doctor. The report read Established infarct and cerebral atrophy. Big scary words. The doctor’s diagnosis was ischemic dementia.

I am thankful for a few things.

That his recent dizziness is not caused by yet another stroke. The doctor explained that the word “established” in the report meant “existing”.

That his condition is mild. Usually he is just forgetful and a bit confused. I hope that it does not get progressively worse.

Dad was happy with the results. He was upbeat and more cheerful for a few days after visiting the doctor.

Thanks to all who dropped by with your comforting words and prayers.
