Am I in the right profession? Hmmm... used to think about it a lot of time in my younger days. Still feel a little regret at times, as I could have chosen some like science or accounting.

But not as much as last time. As I've found my new passion in blogging, and can use my skills on my blog design...hee hee.

I did advertising in university with internet and web designing as an elective. So now my work is related to web, involve a bit of advertising.

Well, I still like what I do. The things I don't like is people don't appreciate my work. I guess it's the Malaysia working environment, in overseas design work are much appreciated than here.

I think I'm in the right profession but wrong place/country.... lol...

As for your nephew, IMHO, I think he has other choices. I have a friend who did psychology, but she is a writer now, writing home decor stuff. And she found her interest in home decor. But she still likes psychology, so she completed her master in psychology later.

I think before that she used to teach in kindergarden too.

Sometimes it takes time to find and realise what's one true passion and grab the right opportunities.

Well, I have an interest in chinese tradition medicine too, hopeful in near future I can realise that dream of mine. He he he...

Usually we tend to gravitate towards our area of interest eventually. I hope you get to realise your dream in the near future. :)

I'm sure your sis appreciates your listening ear. I have some 2nd hand experience seeing what my sis is/was going through with her kids. One changed his mind about psychology (coincidentally) but before he actually started the course, and is now doing law. The youngest is in U6 and still undecided what to take up. Difficult decisions! Maybe your nephew needs the time off to think things through before he can decide on what to do next?

I hope so. My sis is stressed because while he is "thinking" through he just lepak and do nothing ie sleep, play his guitar, uses the pc for long hours etc.

I agree with your sis that the younger generation have more choices nowadays, and the need to make them earlier too eg. go to Form 6 or do a pre-U course in a private college. In our days, Form 6 was natural progression from Form 5 and if you did well enough you went on to Uni. If not then you looked for other choices. The proliferation of private Higher Education Colleges makes it even more difficult.

Anyway I guess it is good that your nephew realises at this point in time that he is not interested in psychology, rather than be miserable working in that field. Your sis is very supportive and I'm sure she will be able to help him make the right choice.

My sis says she is so stressed up trying to talk to him. I don't really know how to help her since I haven't been in a similar situation (still some years to go). The best I can do is lend a listening ear.
