Here is an interesting site that distributes high quality residential mailboxes and commercial mailboxes online. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a single homeowner of sourcing for an entire apartment building, you can find the mailbox you want here. The mailboxes are available in copper, brass and woodworks. You can find all sorts of varieties here. Whether you’re looking for wallmount mailboxes, column mailboxes, postmount mailboxes or mailbox posts and other mailbox components, they’re all here. Apart from residential mailboxes, homeowners can also find address plaques and numbers as well as other curbside decor for their homes at this online marketplace for mailboxes and curbside decor.
This is an example of what usually happens when I am practising songs on my piano.
*tinkle tinkle tinkle*
The boy: Mummy, I want to umm mmm (poo)
*tinkle tinkle tinkle*
The girl: Mummy, can I sit here? (points to the piano chair)
*tinkle tinkle tinkle*
The boy: One more song only ok, mummy? (with a rather sad look on his face)
*tinkle tinkle tinkle*
The girl: Where are you playing now? (Points to the page on the piano songbook)
*tinkle tinkle tinkle*
The boy: Mummy, why so long?
*tinkle tinkle tinkle*
The girl & The boy: *puff puff* (blowing air and saliva all over the piano keys)
MG: What are you all doing?!?
The girl & The boy: We’re helping you to clean the dust from the piano, mummy.
*no more tinkle* *pulls hair* instead!
Don’t know why everytime I try to practise songs on the piano, or trying to exercise etc, they suddenly want to go to the toilet, feel more thirsty then ever etc. AAAAARRRGGH! *Thumps chest*
I love to dance. Its very energising and really gets the sweat out but whats more, its fun! So much fun that I do not realise that I have been sweating it out and getting the heart rate up. Its a very good aerobics exercise. I have been dancing through the years. When I was younger, I would go to the discos (does anyone ever go to a disco these days?). Anyway, I digress. As I was saying I used to go to the discos in groups with friends and we would have great fun dancing and sweating it out on the dance floor. After I outgrew that I took to ballroom dance ie I took up ballroom dancing classes. We used to be amused at this guy in class who couldn’t start the dance with just the music. He would always say “Wait wait! Pom Pom Pom. Pom Pom Pom. 123…” That cracked us up so much. Me and my friends enjoyed the classes so much we would often get together to practise. Now, I have young kids and not much time but I still dance. Whenever I get bored with my exercise videos, I would take out my dance videos to generate some sweat. This way not only do I get to learn to dance, I get some quick aerobics exercise or workouts as well.
My doctor’s appointment was made 3 months ago when I saw him last so since its the holiday season I decided to call up to make sure that he was not going on leave or something like that.
MG: Hello, I’m calling to reconfirm my doctor’s appointment
Reception: When is you appointment? (Sounding busy and hassled)
MG: Friday
Reception: Ok. Just come lah!!!!
MG: I would like to check to make sure the doctor is not on leave
Reception: Which doctor are you seeing? (Sounding very irritated)
MG: Dr X
Reception: Wait!!
A moment later……
Reception: What is your name and card number
MG: MG. Card No. 123
Reception: Your appointment is here. Bye! *toot toot toot* (Sound of phone being hung up!)
She hung up the phone without giving me a chance to say anything further. She never ever answered my question of whether the doctor will be on leave. Sure I know my appointment is there on paper or on the computer screen. The appointment was made 3 months ago and I am sure it is on the records but records can be wrong. I didn’t want my husband to take leave or rush back from work and then we rush to send the kids over to a relatives before rushing to the clinic only to be told that the doctor had gone on leave. Sigh!
Sometimes its like that with busy specialists. Their time is so important that you are told to just come… and they see you on a first come first serve basis. So the reception’s first reaction must have been. “What for you call? Just come lah!” On the other hand, the last time, I was told to “Come before *a certain time* otherwise if there is no patient, the doctor will leave.” (even though there had been a prior appointment made!) Hmmm… seems like their time is important but yours is not. The doctor does not wait for the patient but you have to wait for hours to see him.
More and more consumers are turning to their mobiles to access the internet on the go. They are using their mobiles to check their emails, read news headlines , surf the web and conduct web searches. Is mobile web use here to stay? Only time will tell.
Just look at the world wide web and the internet usage today? The vast improvements in technology and jump in internet usage today is simply amazing. Smart companies know this and must position themselves for a potential leap in mobile web usage as well.
According to a study conducted by the Online Publisher’s Association, 71% of over 1,000 U.S. mobile users interviewed said they have Web access on their phones and more than 40% said they have used mobile Web services. Are you ready to drive customers to your mobile website?
If not, you should consider getting a mobile website hosting soon. You should also aim to have a good WAP site design so that customers can view your website no matter what handsets they are using. There are many ways to promote your company on a mobile…. sms, mobile searches and advertising and more. You could even make money from your downloadable content? Are you ready for the next internet wave ie the mobile web usage wave? Is your WAP site ready?
I’m really behind in tags till I can’t remember who tagged me on what! Sorry lah folks. Theres only that many hours in a day. Hehe. However, I will remember the awards though. So vain hor. So a big thank you to Montesssorimum who gave me the following awards.
1. The smile award because she says I make her smile.

Well, you make me smile too! And so do you
- Adrian who writes in such a candid, frank and unreserved manner and you….
- Sasha whom I think is very farnee and a happy go lucky type and….
- Fatty Poh who makes me smile whether she blogs or or not
There are many more which make me smile too but I think they’ve got the smile award from others before me.
2. The Creative Blogger Award because she says I write inspiring posts.

Ahem! Thank you. Thank you. I only wish I could inspire myself when I need instant inspiration but blogging allows me to try to do that ie. inspire and motivate myself by talking to myself. Instead of talking to my head, I talk on my blog. Lol!
As for creativeness, I do enjoy writing poems so I’ll accept in that area. However, I often get comments about how creative I am in doing my children’s crafts. Well, I’ve said time and again that most of the ideas can easily be sourced from books and the internet and they are not all my own. I just improvise on them a little sometimes, that is all.
For real creativeness as a blogger, I think the award should go to
- eastcoastlife (her photo blogs crack me up)
- Zewt (whose posts are always thought provoking) and
- 5Xmom (who is currently on the top 3 spot for the most obnoxious blogger BCA Award). BCA=Blogger’s Choice Awards.
- My Longkang (I found him by chance while searching for something on google but eversince then I’ve been hooked on his creative posts)
Does your bathroom need a makeover? Its nice to redecorate or refurbish your house every once in a while and one good place to start is the bathroom. Especially if you are the type who like to take a long time having a bath or perhaps you like to read while……Lol! Whatever it is, its nice to have a bathroom that is both comfortable and practical.

“Not another family gathering of yours??!!”
This is a loaded statement and one that could lead to big arguments for most married couples. Hahaha.
Thats right. For most Asians, when you marry, you don’t just marry the man or woman, you marry the family! So unless you’re made of exactly the same mould and your spouse is very sociable, loves company and gets along like house on fire with your family, this is a source of disagreement for most couples.. well, at least the couples I know unless you beg to differ. Well, then you are very lucky indeed.
“Whose family gathering should we attend? Your side or my side? Why does you family has so many get togethers? You’ve attended so many of your own family gatherings, now its my turn. I’m not going to visit your brother/sister/*fill in the blanks* etc etc etc.” Take your pick. Theres lots to argue about. Lol!
The trick to settling these kinds of arguments is COMPROMISE!
Fortunately for me, hubby is not close to his family so we only have one side to argue about. Kekeke. We agreed that we won’t attend each and everyone of my nephews’ and nieces’ birthdays and make it only for the important dates (though if left to me decide, we would attend each and every one of them. Haha.)
Well, I have a big family gathering or rather getaway looming. I need help to persuade hubby to go. Help! (If you don’t have problems in this area then please refrain from commenting as I don’t want to suffer from a bout of enviousness. Lol!)
“Oh no. I’ve got to hide. She’s wearing the same neckless, earring and bracelet set as me!” Lol! This is every woman’s nightmare. Especially if the jewellery set is an expensive one but hey thats life you know. It happens…….. unless you…….design and wear your own custom design jewelry. Then you will have the one and only set that will be the talk of the town or set to make heads spin depending on how good you are at designing.
There’s a designer lurking in each and everyone of us. It just needs to be unleashed that is all. And now, you can unleash the designer in you by giving your ideas and getting it made into a perfect customised design by the experts, the technical and design teams and then watch it transform into your very own customised jewellery. Let the creativeness in you out. Wear your own custom jewellery instead of those created for the masses.
I got this fun meme from 5Xmom the fun mom. In this meme, you are supposed to go back to your very first blog post, then copy and paste it for your new readers who do not know you from the beggining, to read. Its very timely for me to reflect back especially after my Blogging Life Cycle post.
So here it is…… TADAAA! My very first blog post published on Friday, September 12, 2004 at exactly 11.47 am on my Parenting Blog.
New to this
Just started this blog so that I can put in my links for easier access by me or anyone with similar interests. I shall also publish and keep poems, sayings and other stuff that I’d like to keep but have no filing space for at home. So why not file it on the www. Great idea.
This is my personal blog but hopefully like minded sahm can share their links of interesting websites on parenting, household organisation, babies and toddler links etc for my ds 5 months and dd 2 1/2 years.
Thats all for now. Will check in again later to post those links.
Alamak! So boring one. Hahaha. So have I accomplished what I set out to do? Yes, I think so. I still write poems and publish quotes. I still file my favourite links there and in addition I’ve started sharing craft ideas and I’ve gotten to know many like minded parents and non-parents too in the process. Yeah! What a journey. I love it!
The interesting thing to note for me is that when I first started my boy was 5 months old and my girl 2 1/2 years. Now they’re 3 1/2 years and 5 1/2 years. Wow! How quickly the time has flown!
Now I would like to visit the first blog post of those bloggers whom I’ve known for some time but never got round to reading their first blog post. Now this will be very interesting. Will you do it? Anyone else not in this list who feels like sharing just let me know and I will link you.
Do you think you’ve changed since your first blog post? Do you think I’ve changed?
