Do you know the feeling that you get when you discover something good. You just want to share it. That is why there are so many food bloggers, fashion bloggers, tech bloggers etc around. Everyone likes to share.
My kids like to share too.
“Daddy, you MUST watch this. It is soooo gooood”
“Mummy, you JUST HAVE to read this. It is very interesting.”
So, that is how, on hubby’s watch list now is “The Incredibles” and “Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs”
while, my reading list includes ”The Jaguar’s Jewel” by Ron Roy, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid”, “The Temple of the Ruby of Fire” by Geronimo Stilton and “Ben 10 Alien Force Annual 2011″ amongst others.
When I have the time, I humour the kids by reading their recommended storybooks. It makes them very happy and even more thrilled if we discuss the show or book with them afterwards.
I think it is a good thing for us to share their interests in this manner. It shows that we are interested in them. Maybe that is why they are so keen for us to read or watch the show they like.
It is not much trouble to show an interest in them by showing excitement and interest in the things they like. It only takes me about 15 minutes to read the book. Some of them are quite interesting too. I just put down “The Big One-Oh” by Dean Pitchford which was rather funny. We can then discuss any issues from the book that they came across and did not understand.
I think that by showing an interest in their games, shows, music, books etc. and talking and sharing about them, they would be more inclined to share with me about their days in school and their friends etc.
I hope they continue to do so for…….. well up till adulthood. That is my dream. I open the door of communication now and I hope that it will remain open for always.
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of BH Cosmetics. All opinions are 100% mine.
Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the fairest one of all?
How vain are you? I am vain and so was my mother before me. My mother died of cancer when I was 10. I don’t remember her very much but I do remember her standing in front of the full length mirror turning this way and that, admiring herself. I remember her putting on her face cream at night. She used to put on hand and body cream too. That was before she got sick. That was what little memories I have left of her. Apart from the smells from the kitchen and her wonderful sewing. She was a great cook and can sew very well.
Mum was vain and the impression she left behind for me was that it is okay to be vain as a woman. It is good to be conscious about your appearance and to care about how you look. I remembered she used to hand me the comb and a face powder and asked me to comb my hair properly and put on some face powder. “You can’t go out like that” she used to say.
I wonder what sort of impression I am leaving behind for my girl. I am always standing on my weighing scales and sucking my tummy in in front of the mirror.

Anyway, being the vain woman that I am, I am delighted to discover BH Cosmetics. Gosh! The colors. Oh the colors that are available! Imagine a 120 colors pallete eyeshadow at just $29.95. They have a wide range of makeup available but I love the 120 colors palette eyeshadow the most of all.
Imagine the kinds of looks one can create with that! If you include the 26 shadow blush combo pallette and the 66 lip color palette, the possibilities of looks are endless! Furthermore BH Cosmetics eyeshadow is “highly pigmented”, bendable with strong staying power. I hate it when my makeup runs or fades after just a short while. Staying power is good. I like that.
I think that makeup can really create many different looks and moods for a woman. I love to toy around with my makeup to create different looks. They must match my clothing too that is why I love the amazing colors that are available in BH Cosmetics eyeshadow. Don’t you just love it too?
We do not watch much TV at home due to lack of time. Can you imagine that? Sounds miserable doesn’t it? But not really. And the kids do not miss it either because they have grown up in this environment since the time when they were babies. No leaving pay tv on all day with cartoons running all day for them to enjoy.
However, we do let them watch TV …… in style.
On Sunday mornings, we push two armchairs right up to the TV, place a footstool in front and let them put their feet up. Then, still in their pyjamas, they munch on their breakfast in front of the TV.
What a treat!
On Friday nights, we have movie night. After dinner, we would sit down together to watch a dvd. This is the time when kakak gets to sit and enjoy a movie too.
I personally do not watch any TV at all. (although I would like to but I have no time to do so). As for hubby, he is addicted to old school Chinese Martial Art Movies. He has to watch during meals and before sleeping. Sometimes he watches till the TV watches him. Snore….. Zzzzzzzzzzzz!
Being a housewife who seldoms get out of the house, I have to rely on exercise videos to get my dose of exercises. However, I am easily bored. Thank goodness that apart from my small collection of exercise dvds, there is YouTube.
At the moment I am into Belly Dancing. Yeah, you heard that right. I love to dance for fitness. I started with Latin Dance, then Street Dance, now Belly Dancing, anything dance is certainly more interesting than jogging around the house.
Anyway, there is no need to be embarrassed or shy. With the windows drawn, no one can see my big belly jiggling. Haha. If you watch the Belly Dancing fitness video, you will find that the girls do not have any belly and the only thing they have “jiggling” are their hips. They are so graceful indeed. Now, if only I can look like that.
Most times, I am too lazy to exercise. I prefer to play the piano or read. Today is one of those days, so instead of Belly Dancing, I am blogging about Belly Dancing instead while I chew on my food.
Err…. I wonder if watching Belly Dancing fitness videos on YouTube will make me lose weight? Hmmm…. somehow, I think not. lol. But if only, if only………….. I would watch it everyday.
Every year all the mooncake makers compete to outdo each other by coming up with newer and more varieties of mooncake.
This year, I had yellow corn mooncake, bright purple don’t know what flavour mooncake and a black mooncake, charcoal or bamboo or whatever filling. Sorry I am no food connoisseur. We received the mooncake as gifts. I did not buy them.
The new creations come in a variety of colours, usually two. One circular in shape to represent the egg yolk and wrapped up with another coloured filling. Durian, yam, chocolate, cheese, green tea, etc. Anything that strikes your fancy is available if you search hard enough.
The kids love them. They admire the beautiful (and expensive) packaging. They love to open and try each one. My husband will only eat the original mooncake, the lotus one. As for the kids, anything sweet will do. The sweeter the better. They turned up their noses against one yam type with a pastry type of crust. I must admit that it tasted anything but like a mooncake. It was just normal pastry disguised as a mooncake.
Tonight we will stuff ourselves with more mooncake. What about you? What new mooncake did you try this year?
Happy Mid Autumn Festival to all!
