I have added the Google +1 Button to my blogs. Have you?
Here’s how to add the google +1 button to your blogs.
I have several blogs. This one is self-hosted using WordPress. I added the Google +1 Button using this plugin

How to Add the +1 Button to your Blog
It seems really easy for blogger users right? All you need to do is go to your Design, then click Edit Blog posts and select Show Share Buttons. Wrong. It didn’t work for me. I guess it is because I am using an imported template for blogger.
My social sharing buttons don’t show up on my blog for my imported template for blogger. Don’t worry. You can resolved it in a few simple steps. Here is how to Get the Official Sharing Buttons (Including Google +1 button) to show up on your imported blogger template.
Or if you are tech savvy, you can easily place the Google +1 code on your website yourself. The Google +1 FAQ is also located here. If you want to learn about Google +1 in more detail, then check out click on the Google +1 code link in this paragraph.
Oh, I almost forgot. What is Google +1? In short, if you click on the +1 button, you are saying “This is pretty cool” or “Check this out!”. Why not give it a try by clicking on the +1 button you see above this post now? Then go to your Google Profile, click on the +1 tab you find there and this post together with a screenshot will show up there. You will need to have a Google Account, naturally.
There, my very simple and basic explanation. Go check out those links I provided if you want to learn in detail.
After reading the article Playing I Spy with Facebook, I have only one comment.
The first thing that came to my mind is, when my children start a facebook account, I shall be the one to show them how and what they should or should not do. I would also insist that I be their friend on facebook.
However, I would never leave a negative comment on their accounts. Encouraging comments are okay but not negative ones. If there is anything I need to talk to them about their conduct or their friend’s conduct on facebook, then I will talk to them in person instead of leaving a comment. I think it is ridiculous to leave a comment on your children’s facebook account when you have something important to discuss with them.
Firstly, they will be afraid of being laughed at and ridiculed by their friends. Secondly, facebook is not the place for any family or even lovers discussion for all to see. Family discussions should be kept private.
Lastly, no, I do not think that I will be invading their privacy by being their friend on facebook. Certainly not! I am their parent. For their own safety, I SHOULD know what is going on in their lives. I would not read their diary but a facebook account is unlike a diary. Sometimes, if the privacy profile is not set up, the whole world can read what is being written, so why shouldn’t I, the parent? However, as I said, for the sake of their privacy, I will refrain from commenting anything negative. I will also refrain from reading it in detail and discussing things with them in detail. Just enough to know that they are doing the right thing is good enough.
As a parent, I would make it a point to know my children’s friends so that they do not get into the wrong company, all the more so for cyber friends with its different set of rules for friendship and relationships.
Thats my two cents. Whats your take on this?

My life is rather mundane but this excitement, I can do without. On a fine Sunday morning, my maid’s aunt who claimed to be her Godmother came to look for my maid.
I was out with the maid at the time. We were buying breakfast. She told my husband that she had come to borrow money from my maid. She said that she had every right to take money from the maid because she was her godmother. Otherwise, she threatened that she will beat her up and call the police.
My husband called me and I informed my maid who said that she did not wish to she her aunt. She says that if she sees her, she will keep on coming back again and again. She asked me to pretend that she was somewhere else and asked her aunt to leave.
We knew that it would not be so easily resolved as that. If the aunt did not get to see her she would probably come back again and again. She had been calling her several times before this.
So she went back to the house to meet her aunt. I told her that if her aunt gave her any problems, she should not worry, we will call the police. As a safety precaution, we called the police anyway. I don’t feel very safe having a stranger come to my house demanding for money and threatening to beat people up. She may come alone now, but who knows what she will do the next time.
The police came in 5 to 10 minutes. Very fast. Three of them came. They were very kind too even though we told them that the matter had already been resolved by then. I don’t know what the maid spoke to her aunt about but she said that she agreed to send some money home for her and she asked her to deal with their relatives back home instead of bothering her. Then she asked for RM10 to give to her aunt for transport money back to wherever she came from.
As far as I know her aunt was working up north then she said that her employer had sent her to work here. She calls up at different hours from different phone numbers and now she turns up at my house. I wonder if her employer knows what she is up to or even whether she is still legally employed. Sigh.
Sandiwara in my otherwise mundane life but as I said, I prefer life to be mundane.
Today my internet connection is very slow and erractic. It is extremely annoying. Seeing that little loading button turning around and around drives me nuts. I simply have no time for that. Not when I have several blogs to maintain.
So I decided to use Windows Live Writer to blog and I’m loving it! Woo Hoo! Yes, I love it! Windows Live Writer is a blogging client that allows you to blog offline. It is part of Windows Live Essential Suite of Tools. I’ve set up the Windows Live Writer to include all of my blogs. Now, all I have to do is blog from there and publish from there. Everything in one place. Neat!
While blogging, I am able to see exactly how the post will look like on my pages as I type. Very nice! I am able to add the same categories, set a post date, include emoticons like this
and more. I can even put in a table like this. It is so easy!

Ok, better not get carried away. I do have other writings to work on now. Right posting live now…….
I am in the mood for memes so I am starting one! Actually I hadn’t done a meme or a tag for a long time, not till Lian tagged me recently. Years ago, when I first started blogging I was very happy to be part of a meme. Sometimes I even tagged myself or shouted tag me, tag me. Then I became too busy and I didn’t want to be tagged anymore. Now I am back to tag me, tag me. I am fickle, aren’t I?
Anyway, this is a very easy one. You just have to give the same heading and list down the top ten things you wish you could do, then based on your list, analyse yourself. Now isn’t that fun?
Here is my list of top ten things I wish I could do….
- Bake a cake
- Knit
- Draw cartoons
- Play the piano like a pro
- Write a book
- Sew my own and my family’s clothing
- Paint nature landscapes and portraits
- Dance, any dance will do, I’m not choosy.
- Speak in Public (I do wish I have the gift of the gab)
- Sing professionally (instead of in the bathroom. I think that to have a good singing voice is truly a special gift and talent, which I don’t possess, so I guess I’ll have to stick to the bathroom
- Cut, create and style hairdos
- Be a make-up artist and create beautiful faces
- Be a fashion consultant
