This is a continuation post from the previous post on Tips for Setting Up A Greenhouse in Tropical Weather.

After putting up our greenhouse, we decided that we needed an irrigation system for our home vegetable “farm”.

Setting up one was easy. There are many sellers on shopee which sells such DIY self watering irrigation system for plants. We bought one from this seller: https://shope.ee/1L2WYUAjzs

You can select the length of the hose for your garden.

The system is very easy to set up. Just like the greenhouse, setting up the irrigation system is just like playing with LEGO. You just have to cut and fix the various parts.

You can set it up direct to your tap or use a hose splitter or even set it up with a timer.

As the distance from the pipe to our plants was long and ascending at a height, we found that the black hose that came with it was too small and did have enough pressure, so we changed our pipes to a regular garden hose pipe. It is better not to get a reinforced garden hose for this purpose as it will be easier to poke the dripper into a non-reinforced garden hose.

We bought our garden hose from Mr DIY. : https://shope.ee/2VETxH7sUj

There are two kinds of water nozzles, a mist nozzle or a dripper. Both are adjustable, where you can turn them off completely or fully on with a full volume spray or mist.

We bought our drippers and mist nozzles from here: https://shope.ee/9K4o6MzOtN

Finally, here is a look at our completed DIY self watering irrigation system for our plants in pictures and video below.
