I’ve never worn size S before. However I wore M when I was in my 20s and shifted to L in my late 30s. Sob.
Then horror of horrors, post pregnancy, I ballooned to XXL! Much to my dismay it stayed that way for a long time! I had to take drastic action. I ate like a bird. I exercised. After 6 months, I returned to L or occassionally XL.
I hope never to go to XXL again. Though I’m still stuck at L and I suspect I will never fit into M again, it is much better than XXL!
As for my shoe size, it has grown from 6 to 8 and it will never come down again. No amount of dieting will make it shrink after pregnancy.
So there it is. I am L with a shoe size 8. Big hor? As they say. I am in shape. Round is a shape.
What size are you? Anybody in size XS out there? You’ll look like a dwarf beside this giant. lol.
Chinese New Year is coming so its out with the old and in with the new. Time to get new clothes, new shoes, new hairdo. Hmmm…. what hairdo?
To me there are only 4 basic styles. It’s either long and straight, short and straight, long and curly or short and curly with some variations in between like bob, boy cut, layered look etc. So which hairstyle? *Taps fingers*
It would seem that as you grow older and older, your hairstyles become more and more limited. It is limited to short or medium length and straight rather than curly or you would either look like an old lau hiau Ah Soh or an Ah Soh who is trying to look young.
Hmm…. how ar? Since I am always a young person locked inside a middle aged body, what hairstyle should I keep? Should I break tradition? Since I always tend to veer towards the long… hmm…. maybe long with curls…. maybe just color it will do… maybe very very straight (you know like in those glossy shampoo ads) …. maybe… oh I give up. I don’t know. Whatever it is, it always ends up in a mess, tied up in a messy half pony tail half bun. So it does not make any difference. Hehe.
What do you all think? Do you think middle aged women look better with certain hairstyles only?
I am the long hair type. It must be because from the age of 7 to 12 I was forced to have short hair, very short hair because of the school I attended. I was in Methodist Girl’s School. They were very strict about hair. Must be above the colar and ears, fringe above the eyebrows etc. So after age 12, I rebelled and I have been rebelling ever since. Hahaha. I’ve only cut my hair fairly short once since then and I hated the look. Besides long hair is so much easier to look after, its low maintenance, like me. Hehehe.
Here’s an excerpt of an article I read on the web about women with long hair pinpointing women over 40 to be exact (that would be me if you didn’t already know). Haha.
“What Long Hair Reveals About Personality
Women who are over 40 years old and wear their hair long may not resist growing up. Dimitrius writes, “Sometimes women with this trait are caught in a time warp and still think of themselves as teenagers or college students rather than as grown-ups. Such women may be fairly unrealistic in their outlook on life as well as in their perception of themselves.”
Women who have long hair may believe it makes them more sexually appealing. Long hair could also reveal a bohemian spirit or freedom from conventional expectations.

OMG! Hahaha. Perhaps its true. I always feel younger than my age. I’m like stuck forever young in my mind altho the body begs to differ. lol. Older also means slower metabolism. I was supposed to lose 5 pounds but I gained 5 pounds instead. Grrrrrrr! (But then thats another story for another day). The second part about freedom from conventional expectations is not true for me though. I’m very conventional to the point of being exceptionally boooorrrrriingg. Yaawwwwn.
What about you? Which hair type are you?
I love contests. I think the best part about a contest is the anticipation of winning. This usually happens immediately after I submit my contest entry.
I guess that allowing myself to dream about winning is a nice feeling because it makes me hope for something, silly though this may sound. Dreaming about my “winnings” is fun but of course winning is even better.
To maximise my chance of winning, I don’t enter sms contests (which is usually expensive and can be a scam). I don’t enter contests which require a lot of work (eg a different entry each week or as many entries as you can types) and those which require a lucky chance among millions because I don’t ever seem to win any lucky draws.
I usually enter contests which require some writing because I think some people would be lazy to write in so it increases my chance and I enter those which I think has less contestants so that increases my chance. Using these “strategies” I have won quite a few items.
Jewellery, Expensive face creams (which I wouldn’t buy myself if I didn’t win them ;)), a watch worth RM1,000 which I eventually sold to Cash Converters for RM100 a few years later after the batteries ran out. And each time I won I was on cloud nine. I remembered the first time I won a string of pearls, I was so excited when I called hubby he was wondering what it was all about.
Hubby used to shake his head when I entered yet another contest but he stopped shaking it after I won something rather useful. Now, he helps me look out for contests and helps me to send out my entry forms.
Well, if you’re like me and you like contests, here’s a chance for you to win something. Now, we have contests on blogs. Thats a new and good medium for contests because it increases your chance of winning, IMO. The prize for this contest is a cash voucher worth RM88 for a clothing line which is exclusively for boys only, boys aged 1 to 14. So, if you have a son, a newphew, a brother or a friend’s son who is this age, go check out this Blogger’s Contest on my Parenting Times Blog.
Psst: Hope that all the blogger kakis out there can help to spread the word about the contest around. Thanks.
Well, I don’t know if it is but it is Fashion Week at One Utama and Mid Valley Megamall. I just happened to be there during the weekend and was treated to Fashion Shows.
I watched a Fitness Fashion show at Mid Valley. What fantastic outfits. Gone are those days of boring old shorts and t-shirts for jogging or boring black leotards for group aerobics exercises. The fitness fashion is so interesting these days. What fantastic outfits. Now if only I could fit into them! Hahaha. Well, first I’ve got to exercise in my boring old T and shorts first before I can wear one of those nice fitness outfits. Lol! The models looked great sashaing on the walkway. Oh! Those flat tummies! I’m so jealous! I never had a flat tummy. Not even when I was a teen! Sobs. Now I can forget about a flat tummy ever. Racking sobs!
At One Utama I was treated to an all male fashion show as I happened to be there when they were modelling an all male brand. The guys don’t look as good as the girls on the walkway. Maybe I’m just not used to seeing guys strutting their stuff on the walkway. Haha. I thought they walked kind of funny. My only thought was how come none of the male models (and there were plenty) looked like a true blue Malaysian. They all looked so…. foreign. I am sure there are many good looking Malaysian guys around. Maybe none of them wants to become a model. Hmmm… what do you think?
The best make-up is a good complexion. I do so envy those that have crystal clear skin with no blemish in sight. I wonder wether they are born with it or it is a result of good skin care. Maybe its both.
My skin is getting older now but I guess its not too late to take care of it. My skin is uneven in color. I have darker spots where my acne used to be. The acne is gone now due to my age but the spots and scars remain the same and they have turned a darker color. I didn’t realise that they are a result of my skin’s pigmentation until I came across ORIKI Cosmeceuticals.
ORIKI Cosmeceuticals is specially developed with Asian, Mediterranean and Olive (AMO ) skin tones in mind. It incorporates the pigmentation factor into its line of products because the pigmentation problem requires specialised skin care. Hmm…now if only I had known this earlier.
Maybe its not too late though. I read on the website that ORIKI products will minimise the appearance of pores, fine wrinkles and dark spots for a luminious, younger and healthier looking skin. Exactly what I need! Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to go and browse the Anti Aging Cream with Botanical Antioxidants, the Firming Eye Serum or “Eye Lift” in a bottle with Botox effects or the Anti-Wrinkle Wonder or the Green Tea Mask. Gosh! I didn’t know skin care could be so exciting! Lol!
“Oh no. I’ve got to hide. She’s wearing the same neckless, earring and bracelet set as me!” Lol! This is every woman’s nightmare. Especially if the jewellery set is an expensive one but hey thats life you know. It happens…….. unless you…….design and wear your own custom design jewelry. Then you will have the one and only set that will be the talk of the town or set to make heads spin depending on how good you are at designing.
There’s a designer lurking in each and everyone of us. It just needs to be unleashed that is all. And now, you can unleash the designer in you by giving your ideas and getting it made into a perfect customised design by the experts, the technical and design teams and then watch it transform into your very own customised jewellery. Let the creativeness in you out. Wear your own custom jewellery instead of those created for the masses.
