About my mum

Monday 3 September 2007 @ 3:39 pm

I was tagged by Jacelyn to write 8 random facts about my mum but I’ve changed it a little because my mum is no longer here, not for the past 31 years now but I still miss her. So I’ll do this tag with a twist. Here are some posts I’ve done about my mum or inspired by her. You’ll find much more than 8 random facts about her there. :)

1. Memories of Mum

2. What I remember of Mum

3. Mommy, please don’t worry

4. Creating happy memories with the children

Anyone who feels like doing this tag please go ahead. How about you…

Blogging Tips

Thursday 30 August 2007 @ 4:21 pm

I’ve just been tagged by Shooi. That reminds me I have a backlog of tags to do and have almost forgotten them as I have been writing lots of my own posts lately, no time for tags and memes. Anyway this one is easy peasy so I’ll let this skip the queue and do this first.

It’s a very simple tag. When this is passed on to you, copy the whole thing, skim the list and put a * star beside those that you like. (Check out especially the * starred ones.) Write your own blogging tip for other bloggers. Try to make your tip general. Tag as many people as you want.

1. Look, read, and learn. http://www.neonscent.com/****
2. Be, EXCELLENT to each other. http://www.bushmackel.com/****
3. Don’t let money change ya! http://www.therandomforest.info/******

16. Share something interesting and you will gain more readers. http://judychow.blogspot.com**
17. Blog real and true story and never copy others posts. http://mylovelymummy.com

18. Don’t blog about things that you don’t want others to find out. You’ll never know who’s reading your blog. http://justmytots.com/

19. Don’t comment if you have not read the post in full. You’ll look stupid (and you are being insincere) to comment something that is irrelevant or out of point to what the blogger has been saying in their post. http://mumsgather.com

The Power of Schmooze

Thursday 26 July 2007 @ 7:17 am

Thank you BKWorm for giving me this Power of Schmooze award.

The Power of what? Say again? Just what exactly is Schmooze??!

My search for “schmooze” on google yielded rather different results. ”Schmooze” is…

  • the number one party spot in Toronto
  • is a small friendly college established in 1994
  • the fourth edition of the American Heritage Dictionary
  • a bar in Toronto
  • a NY based rock band

Hahaha. But for this award it means “a blogger skilled in the art of small talk”

I also found the link to the origin of the award from my google search. It came from Mike at Gummy the Lovesick Alien. He said..

“Schmoozing as defined by Dictonary.com is the ability “to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection.” When it comes to blogging, schmoozing is your ticket to making new friends, getting yourself noticed and building a reputation. Some bloggers are gifted with the ability to effectively schmooze and others not so much.”

Now that I know the meaning, I feel really honoured and would like to pass on the honour to other bloggers gifted with the Power of Schmooze. They are…

1. 5XMom – She can really Schmooze on any of her 13 (?) blogs. (Sorry I lost count on the number of blogs she maintains.)

2. Ah Pek – now that old feller can reaaaaly Schmooze too and he composes poems like writing ABC.

3. Pablo Pabla can Schmooze yes he can. Afterall he is a lawyer. Lol!

4. Yenjai can Schmmoze. He provides After-Meal Gossip on his blog.

5. Jason yes, this young man can schmooze too especially about food.

Not sure why I gave this award to mostly men, young and old. Must be the muscles and the blue badge. Lol! I hope you all like it. You deserve the honour.

If I have one million

Friday 20 July 2007 @ 10:10 am

I was tagged by Montessorimum for this one.

Hmm.. lets see.. If I have $1 million, the very first thing that comes to my mind is

  • I would try to secure my kids’ financial future. To to do these days, don’t be surprised if $1 million isn’t really enough anymore if you’re talking about making sure they also own property etc when they are adults. So it’ll have to mean providing them with the education to secure their own financial future. Education is so costly these days. So yes, if I had $1 million, I would breathe a sigh of relief for that would mean that I would then be able to afford or pay for their education unlike now, have to crack head and work hard.
  • In order to make sure that my $1 million works hard, I will need to invest it smartly to make it grow!
  • Then, I would go SHOPPING! YEEHAW! *jumps up in the air and claps heels together*

Thats it. I’m boring, greedy and selfish. No donations and stuff like that. Lol! What about you?

Narrowband – I want to find out what a young man will do with his $1 million

BKWorm – Will you buy a bookstore? Hehe.

Sweetisu – who is a frugal person like me

Jazzmint – Will it stop you from grabbing those PPP opps from me? Hahaha.

Mott – Will it cure your Superhomes lust? Lol!
