I’m thinking of holding a family gathering soon. However, I have many nieces and nephews within the family who are teenagers. I’m wondering how on earth to entertain them so that they don’t tell their parents they want to go home soon because they’re bored. Lol!
I don’t have any playstation or other exciting stuff that teenagers like. Heck! I don’t even have Astro so they can’t watch TV. Hahaha.
I’ve consulted my sister but she says, “don’t worry about them lah”. Just let them learn to entertain themselves without thinking up of entertainment for them. However, I feel that as host, I must think of all my guests, even if they’re teenagers.
So, can anyone help me out with this?

Put a play station 3 and you are all set to go. 😛
I takdak $$$ to buy playstation 3 ler. Lol!
Put on some reruns of American Idol Rejects … that stuff is so bad it is good.
That ought to entertain the adults too…… or perhaps it’ll make them all want to go home early. Hahaha.
got cybercafe near by your house?
Afterwards the parents scold me, how ah?
vodka.
Thats reserved for the adults. 😉
A cheaper more accessible suggestion than PS or any electronic game, go get a carrom table, you remember carrom? Where you try to hit the puck with your fingers and sink them into the nets at the corner of the board, that way when your guest leave, you and hubby can play oso your young kids can play too. I bet they would love it.
They have that at home so they’re probably bored with it by now. I was thinking of pictionary….
send them off to a mamak session near your place
Then make them “ta pau” some rotis back yah?
Bring out the cards!!!! We did that all the time! lol
Hey, thats a good and cheap idea. Only, don’t call the cops if they start taking out their wallets to make the game more “chikek”.
Cigarettes and beer in a small smoky room away from their parents. Bwahaha…
You forgot loud music. 🙂
I had 9 teenagers in my home for the New Year, they entertained themselves by playing Twister, other various board games, being complete clowns, listening to music and eating.. goodness do they love to eat. When they are teenagers they pretty much just like to hang out. Perhaps you could find out if one of them have a gaming system, and have them bring it. Anything pretty much words.
All the best! Have fun! 🙂
Thanks for the great tips Gina. 🙂
[…] My house was truly warmed up that evening. The kids ran about all over the house and played happily amongst themselves. The teenagers whom I was worried about entertaining, entertained themselves. Two of them came with their guitars and they sat in the corner of the living room and sang their hearts away. It was great. They had nice voices, they enjoyed singing, and I had live entertainment or music. Two others asked for a pack of playing cards which someone suggested in my comments section and they went off to play happily. […]
