On the first day of Chinese New Year we brought the kids to Thean Hou Temple to catch the lion dancers. We just missed it! Haha.
Anyway, we managed to look around the Thean Hou Temple Herb Garden and the Tortoise Pond which has a good population of tortoises. I didn’t notice this part of the temple grounds before last year. It is located at the back of the temple grounds. It is quite scenic and cool. Nice for taking pictures. We got married at the Thean Hou Temple previously because we thought it was nice for taking photos. Now, its even nicer. Well, it definitely is nicer for photos than the marriage registry department. Haha.
Here are some photos we took.

Wow…it has changed so much. Used to have an ex who studied Mandarin in the condo’s opp the temple and I spent one hour in the temple grounds enjoying the scenery.
Its just a small part though. Would have been nicer if it was a bit bigger.
Beautiful garden….So you both married there? What a blessing could go there again with now 2 kids 🙂
Oh, yes thats a nice thought. I hadn’t thought of that before. Hahaha.
Thanks for sharing the great view, I also did not noticed that it has such a nice landscape at the back of the temple.
Yah, its at the back thats why and a small area only.
Its been ages since I visited Thean Hou temple although it is so near to my mom’s house (which is my ex-house lah) .. hahahaha. Went there 4 yrs ago to check out registration services but was pissed off. Too many people. Prefer the Buddhist Maha Vihara temple in Brickfields, so much more serene and pleasant and got personal blessing services for the couple too.
Really ah. For us, it was ok. However the registrar or whatever you call them (the person who conducts the marriage) was so strict like a headmistress, we all had a hard time trying to contain our giggles from bursting forth. Hahaha. But that made it memorable in a funny way. 😛
